Photography has been part of my life since high school, when I paid for my first camera by selling small prints and learning the craft the traditional way — through practice, repetition, and working with real people. I began my career at Shell Oil Company in 1984 and spent 36 years there while building my photography business on nights and weekends. That experience gave me a strong understanding of how corporations operate and what professionals expect, which directly shapes how HeadshotTour.com serves clients today. Alongside my professional journey, I’m also proud to be a dad to a wonderful daughter who is currently in college and competing on her school’s rugby team — a reminder every day of the value of dedication, discipline, and showing up prepared.

About the Studio

Home Based, Always

My studio has always been home based (26+ years), and that’s a decision rooted in both practicality and philosophy. Rather than maintaining a traditional brick-and-mortar location with the overhead that comes with it, I’ve built a fully equipped home studio that delivers the same professional experience without the added cost burden. This approach allows me to keep pricing accessible while still providing high-quality results and personalized service. The studio itself is located in a dedicated building separate from my home, creating a private, professional environment designed specifically for photography. The space functions as a complete studio setting, featuring professional lighting, backdrops, and all the tools needed to produce consistent, polished imagery. Clients benefit from a comfortable, distraction-free experience while the streamlined business model ensures resources are invested where they matter most — equipment, experience, and client outcomes rather than unnecessary overhead.
STUDIO PROPERTY

The studio is located in a dedicated building separate from my home and spans approximately 1,800 square feet across two floors. Structurally, it resembles a small house with a garage door, allowing for easy equipment access and flexible use of the space while maintaining a comfortable, welcoming feel for clients. The space is fully built out and climate controlled with AC and heat on both the upstairs and downstairs levels, ensuring a comfortable environment year-round. Inside, the studio is equipped with professional lighting, multiple backdrops, a private changing area, and an on-site bathroom, providing everything clients need during their session. This purpose-built environment delivers the benefits of a traditional studio setting while preserving the efficiency and flexibility that define my client experience.

 
 
Studio Gear

Our studio is equipped with professional-grade gear to deliver consistent, high-quality results across headshot, branding, and portrait sessions. We photograph with Sony A1 camera systems known for exceptional resolution, color accuracy, and reliability. Lighting is tailored to each session, including Westcott Flex LED panels for soft, flattering headshots, a comprehensive Godox strobe system with extensive modifiers for versatile portrait lighting, and Nanlite continuous lighting for branding sessions that benefit from a more cinematic, lifestyle feel.

Supporting this core capture and lighting infrastructure is a full complement of traditional studio tools that ensure efficiency and creative control. The studio maintains an extensive inventory of light stands, boom arms, V-Flats, gobos, and multiple background options, allowing us to quickly adapt setups and maintain visual consistency across sessions. 

Location

Our studio is conveniently located approximately 20-25 minutes from The Woodlands Mall, with travel time varying slightly depending on traffic conditions. Positioned on the north side with quick access to the Grand Parkway, the location is easy to reach from surrounding communities. For additional reference, we are also just a few minutes beyond the H-E-B at Rayford Road and the Grand Parkway, making the drive straightforward and familiar for most clients.
